About doctors per capita
The figures come from the World Health Organization’s National Health Workforce Accounts and national sources, published by the World Bank, and the latest year differs from country to country. Some countries count every licensed doctor, others only those who practise, so the figures are not strictly comparable.
Nurses, midwives and community health workers, who provide much of the care in many countries, are not included.
