1. What We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service:
- API key registration: Email address and optional name/project description.
- Newsletter signup: Email address only.
- Payment (paid tiers): Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID.
- API usage: Request counts per API key (daily and total). We do not log individual API request content.
- Site analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, approximate location, device type). See section 4 for details and opt-out options.
- Anonymous visitors: IP address (for rate limiting only, not stored persistently). Standard web server logs.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the API service (authentication, rate limiting, usage tracking).
- To process payments via Stripe.
- To send the weekly newsletter (if you opted in). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To respond to support requests.
- To measure site usage and improve the product (analytics).
We do not sell your personal data. Account data (your email, API key, subscription) is never shared with advertisers. Advertising on this site, where shown, is served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies as described in section 4.
3. Third-Party Services
- Stripe: Payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- OVHcloud: Website and database hosting on servers located in Canada. See OVHcloud's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics: Aggregate site-usage measurement. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense: Advertising, where ads are shown. See section 4.
4. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality (such as keeping you signed in to your API dashboard), for analytics, and for advertising:
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to help us measure aggregate traffic. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Advertising: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
5. Data Retention
API keys and associated usage data are retained as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove your API key record and associated email within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
- Revoke your API key.

7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure API key generation, and Stripe webhook signature verification. However, no system is 100% secure. Keep your API key confidential.
