Cite country comparisons that can be recovered after the live data changes. Each published capture preserves annual values, missing readings, country names, units, price bases and source definitions in one downloadable file.

Available source captures

Coverage currently includes two reviewed World Bank constant-price GDP per capita series. These are dated source captures; they do not represent the full SOTW catalog or official publisher release vintages.

How to cite and reproduce a comparison

1. Open a source capture and select the countries and reference year. A common-year comparison uses the capture’s fixed cutoff; missing values are never replaced by another year.
2. Download the selected year or history as CSV or JSON. The citation includes the archive identifier and a link that preserves the selected countries and period.
3. Retain the complete archive JSON with your work. Its SHA-256 checksum binds all archived readings and metadata. A change in values, names or price base requires a different archive identifier.

A source capture date records when SOTW retrieved the response. World Bank’s dataset update date is separate. Neither establishes an individual reading’s publication date or whether it was observed or estimated. These distinctions remain in the exports.
