Renewable Energy Share
Definition
The percentage of total energy consumption derived from renewable sources: hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass.
Explanation
Countries like Iceland (nearly 100%) and Norway (>70%) lead in renewable energy thanks to abundant hydropower and geothermal resources. Globally, renewables account for about 18% of final energy consumption. Solar and wind are growing fastest, but fossil fuels still dominate.
